sleepy & tired.

lately i have been very sleepy and tired... i think it's due to lack of sleep at night. restless tossing and turning. I find that sleeping on my right side really does bring on the backaches, as does sleeping on my back. The only side i manage to sleep on w/o backaches, i think, is my left. Unfortunately though i still turn and sleep on all sides.

this makes me tired.

plus they're still rennovating downstairs... drilling. ugh. so tired.

hopefully our boxes come today though! supposedly they will be arriving soon this evening... i can't wait!! :) perhaps i will take tmrw off, or half day...

6 weeks and a few days to go! but honestly, i am hoping little girl is a libra or at least libra/scorpio cusp. :)

love love love. hugs hugs hugs. keep growing stronger little girl!
we love you.

catching up...

it's really become a bit of an inconvenience i suppose w/o internet at home. with blackberries, i think there's still quite a bit of tech radiation coming thru, which can be a bit "unknown"... i think we just need to get internet fixed sooner than later. it seems dad has no real initiation to get it done but at the same time it's nice not to have to sit in front of the computer at home all the time too. give and take.

anyhow, last friday was 9/25- birthday! another year, another number, though age really, is only a number. I still feel quite young, for the most part. perhaps that will change when little girl arrives but even then I think i'll still feel the same...

9/25 is actually also m's parents anniversary. their 35th anniversary and also actually our 2nd yr engagement anniversary! to think we were in barcelona 2 yrs ago... i miss the tapas and the food and travelling. going to other places is always nice, to explore and engage in different cultures... inspiratoin adn being away from home on "vacation"... that was a nice trip. :)

so anyhow, friday night we went to Spoon for dinner. 6 course tasting menu, which was similar to what we had back in june but this time it was better- the main course. yummy and full. we didn't do anything afterwards, was just a quiet family meal. not that i was planning on going out anyhow... :p

Saturday was pretty calm, i actually don't remember what we did... but oh, i do remember m slept till about 230pm. he has been very tired lately! i think it's still catching up from last saturday night's outing... but i think he is finally rested up now. Grandpa Tsang also came back from xiamen on Sat afternoon, and we had dinner with him and grandma/pa wong just downstairs at "toe-yune". Nothing fancy, but ok. Grandpa Tsang was tired, so he went to sleep early and we watched some football... a quiet night in. We did manage however to clean up some stuff in your room, which is a good start... rearrange the bed so the room looks bigger! Plus Auntie (godmother) Amy has sent all your goodies! We will be getting them tomorrow! So we had to clean some space so when they arrive we'll be semi-ready. :) yay!!

Sunday, we dropped grandpa tsang off at the airport as he was going back to nj... short trip for sure for him, hope he stays healthy! since in a week he has to fly back out to india, another long haul flight. Daddy then went to play tennis in the morning and came back and we made some lunch at home. I had fresh mozzerella which grandpa brought from the states (grandma t is funny, she brings the best foods here, like croissants, bread, cereal, home made granola... i can find all that stuff here too but i guess it's from the heart which is always the best!!). so fresh mozzerella and tomato/basil with olive oil and balsamic. yum. daddy made spaghetti with sausage, a little bit of chilies and tomato sauce. whole wheat spaghetti too. :) we try to eat healthier since chinese food here is kinda oily and not so good sometimes.

i just stayed at home in the afternoon and took a nap. lately i haven't been sleeping so well at night, though come to think of it, maybe it's because of these midday naps? haha.

the rest of sunday.. not much. and so today. Monday. They are still doing construction downstairs, drilling, but i must've been very tired today, since i think i slept thru the drilling until 1030am this morning (even though daddy left at 9). feeling hot flashes as well, very sweaty... i hope i don't have a fever or aren't getting sickly. gotta eat more vitamin c.

OOOH. i do remember saturday morning! i got a visit from the charlie horse fairy! NO FUN. this time wasn't as bad, left leg again but even till today, Monday it's still a bit sore... :( i kinda knew it was coming as well, b/c i hadn't had enough milk and yogurt the past week+... so back to the regimine. need to buy yogurt and milk to eat more to prevent these darn charlie horses and also so that your bones will grow healthy and strong!!

mommy loves you lots! you're continuing to grow and also move a lot! poor little girl, i know it must be getting cramped in there!! mommy's tummy is about 38.5" around now... swelling in my calves is ok, still around 13-13.5" when swollen, but i can't complain. you've been very "guai" to mommy and mommy loves you for that.

be good, keep growing!
i can't wait to hold you in our arms and hug and love you!!! :) xxxo

32 weeks!

Today marks 32 weeks! (the beginning of at least). EIGHT or less to go! :)

The past few days have been okay... there was actually a typhoon 8 warning here on monday night/tuesday morning (9/14-15). It was mostly windy and the rain was pounding down- this time however it was in the back of the house, so our bedroom was really noisy with the pitter patter of crashing raindrops- especially on the a/c unit. And even though there was a typhoon with rain, we still needed to keep the a/c on. Ahhh hong kong humidity! Luckily however based on the winds, our living room didn't get soaked/flooded like last time, so no damage to our curtains or carpet.

The more unfortunate part of the typhoon however was that we were supposed to go to get our 3 hour glucose test on Tuesday morning- leaving the house around 8am. Well, unfortunately that got postponed... so fasting, for well, nothing. We did however get to watch the finals of the US Open where Del Potro beat Federer! Great match and this 09 US Open definitely had a lot of surprises and upsets which was fun to watch.

Anyhow, so I had to fast again, tuesday night, to go to the hospital on Wednesday morning. I woke up at 4am quite hungry but managed to go back to sleep till 730am. Unfortuately there is a lot of traffic on the HK side at 8:30-9am... hopefully little girl will come during the day or in the middle of the night. That would be ideal; though even with traffic it takes about 35-40 minutes to get to HK adventist. Not too bad... but it seems like a lot longer when you're moving at about the pace of a snail. How i don't miss driving in traffic...

So we get to the hospital around 9am. First blood is drawn at 9:30, where it is considered your "no glucose" blood. Unfortunately I had to wait until almost an hour before I actually got that really nasty glucose drink... 10:23 I downed a cup of sugar water, about 10000parts of sugar to 1 part water. It was non-flavored, just sugar. Think sierra mist but times 10000 without the lemon lime and without the carbination. yum. and even more unfortunate after that, i ended up throwing it up- not once, but twice... and oh my, i knew i couldn't spit it up so the first time i managed to swallow. but oh no, the second time wasn't so easy. it came out my nose. gross. i got some of it back down but tasted sugar in my nose for the rest half of the day. super pleasant i tell ya. so the clock started ticking... 11:23, first "post glucose" blood drawn... then 12:23, 2nd, and finally 1:23pm the 3rd and final time. By then i wasn't even hungry anymore; i think i was beyond hungry and just plain tired. So i went home and rested.

*we must be thankful again* that we work for family and can have the luxury of taking random days off when needed. Of course thanks to blackberry though, i am connected about 24/7 except when blackberry wants to "think".

anyhow, i'm really glad the glucose test is over... now just need to await the results! I hope we're okay... we should be though since mommy doesn't have any diabetes in her family. We'll go back to the dr next week and since we are at 32 wks, dr says every 2 weeks we need to go back. then at week 36 we'll go back every week!! We're getting sooooooo close and it's so exciting!!

Btw= your grandma says that these tests are really horrible, as are medicines-- "they're just giving you more medicine for more medicine upon medicines... you need to learn prevention, and wellness, especially in diet and exercise!! that will keep you healthy."

ahhh grandma. she's great. but i think she does have a point. i can't wait for you to meet her little girl!

Also- Auntie Amy is going to send your goodies soon! i can't wait... i already stare at your corner of stuff growing in our home... even though we are super procrastinating in getting everything set for your arrival... one of these days we'll finally start cleaning up your room... i promise.

love love love.
grow grow grow!

everyday at work...

i think the only reason i go to work these days is because there is internet access. for some reason our internet isn't working at home, actually the reason is because the ppl who wired the flat before us (i should say, rather, before they sold it to us), wired it half-monkied. therefore all the wires are going beserk and don't work. We've had pccw come already 3xs and each time they tell us our wires are going to die at any time and we'll need to drill another hole in the wall to bring the main internet wire thru to create a new home for our modem. well... unfortunately that time has come and we've been procrastinating about having the electrician (i think that's who we'll have to call) come to drill that hole.

anyhow, so yah... that's why i come to work everyday. to access internet. on a computer i might add- since i do have blackberry but i really shouldn't use it too much since who knows what strange and damaging long term effects might have on you little girl... i think that's one of mom's bad habits. need to slow it down.

so everyday at work i come in and check email... usually though not work email first, since i've checked laying in bed when i get up everymorning-- no contacts in, reading email. so first stop- yahoo mail. second stop gmail. third stop is usually a blog in the morning, here. :)

fourth stop we actually visit this one really neat blog "pacing the panic room". it's about a dad who writes candidly about his family which he's just received a little blessing recently of a little girl tessa tangerine. Anyhow, it was nice because they actaully got me and dad to thinking about using cloth diapers since they are using this brand fuzzi bunz. I started to do some more research on the option of using cloth/reusable diapers just because diapers especially here are more expensive! of course we're going to ship a bunch back before we go back home to grandma'pas... but we like how we can help do our little part in helping to conserve the earth-- for you when you grow up. Diapers take about 5 yrs to break down, which is a LOT. and with the millions of babies being born (though i'm sure a lot use cloth in 3rd world countries or perhaps none at all, i.e. a la shanghai even) that's a pretty good amount of diapers. so it's nice because today's post from pacing the panic room says that we might even be able to win some new fuzzibunz which would be such a wonderful thing!! and even if we don't, we're still going to use cloth diapers, just because it's better for our environment, for your environment and hopefully that means also less diaper rash for you little girl. :)

after the more important things out of the way, we start going into the preggo related sites (and what a long list i have...) first of those being usually tpf's preg forum. it's always interesting to see what other ladies have to say... about random nonsense sometimes and othertimes it's just good to read personal information/insight/ real stuff vs. the books... then all the places to spend money on you... more money on you... amazon, ebay, mamabargains, babysteals, minisocial, greenbabybargains, etc... some more blogs... though not all checked daily at this point...

and this is why i go to work still everyday. :) hopefully though by the time you get closer to meeting us for the first time, daddy will have had the electrician come to fix our internet. so then i really don't have to come to work anymore. haha.

on another note- mommy's been able to sleep quite well the past 3 nights. i think it's b/c before we sleep, daddy sings to you for about 10 minutes. it's been wonderful since that means not so much tossing and turning in the middle of the night. :) yay! we will start to sing you ABC's too, perhaps to get a head start. ;)

we love you lots... keep growing...
XXOOOOOOOOOOOO mommy & daddy

ps: to keep track of charlie horses- mommy had another one the other night-- two nights ago i think, but it wasn't NEARLY as bad as the one on 7/30... this one was only starting and daddy managed to help stretch out mommy's leg so it lasted only a minute if that... though i can still feel it coming on, lingering, which means time for more yogurt and calcium. :)

swelling...

i don't think i got enough sleep yesterday. nor last night. sleeping has become quite the luxury, really... tossing and turning, too hot, uncomfortable or hungry. ahh the joys of being pregnant!

last night i woke up twice hungry. of course we went to bed earlier than normal- i think around 1030pm... but by midnight i woke up and had to eat a bowl of cereal. then later into the night i had to wake up again and have some granola. but i definitely did not get enough sleep.

yesterday i actually realized that my calves are getting more swollen. a few weeks ago they were 13", but i measured y/day and they were up to 13 1/4"... no bueno. i think sleeping gets rid of swelling, so i need to do that. it's difficult these days too since the jackhammers and construction downstairs doesn't let me really sleep during the day (well, i'm at work too, so i guess that doesn't really help). i hope we get to start resting more...

this morning we went to the dr. *Finally* i will take the glucose test! but instead of the normal 1 hr, i have to take the 3 hour test... that means i can't eat for 8 hrs before the test, which means i need to stop eating at 12:30am and then go to the hospital at 830am (arrive) to drink 100g of some super sweet stuff. then they'll take my blood after 1/2 hr, 1 hr, 2hrs and finally 3 hrs. i hope we're okay and pass okay.

Also i've now gained 11.4kg = 25lbs. woah. that's a lot. with 9 weeks to go, that means +9 more lbs = total weight of 34lbs. i certainly hope bf-ing takes the weight off!! Pretty PLEASE no stretch marks. :)

aside from that- the dr says you're growing well. your head is 7.33cm diameter and it seems like it's getting a bit crammed in the tummy... you're still also breech, but that's okay. sometimes babies don't turn until week 36 onwards so i'm not too concerned. 7.33cm is actually a due date of 11/21, but dr says we'll still shoot for 11/13. If you're 11/11 that's okay too. actually 11/21 falls into scorpio/sagg cusp, which i don't really mind... as long as you're healthy and happy!!

hopefully i can sleep more tonight... it's always around 4pm where i start to get tired... and want to nap.

grow grow grow... we love you. :)

sore.

Unfortunately the people below us have decided that it's fun to start using jackhammers at 9am. No Bueno. At all. That means mommy and daddy can't sleep, well dad can sleep but mommy can't because she's worried the noise will startle you. So luckily, thankfully, and gratefully your grandma wong lives so close and mommy can crash there to get some more zzzz's in the morning. :) i guess it's one of those things you don't realize is a blessing until you have the opportunity to appreciate it. Remember to appreciate all things in life, even the littlest ones which may right be in front of you!

Anyhow, on early Saturday morning, mommy woke up with a horrible pain/soreness in her right side. I'm not sure if it's from sleeping on my right side sometimes, but ouchies. I was quite worried as well... being that I hadn't felt anything like that before, it's almost as if little girl was kicking and punching me in the side all night? (though not on purpose I'm sure)... Anyhow, luckily I was able to fall asleep again, on my left side and woke up okay.

I did however notice, that right below my belly button was slightly indented... usually it's a smooth surface, but on Saturday morning it seemed to be indented? and also a bit sore... strangest thing. Unfortunately a camera wouldn't capture it, but it was certainly a slight depressed area, thumb size maybe?

Though today, Monday, it's back to normal. :)

Sleeping has been okay lately... nothing spectacular, but at least I can still sleep fairly comfortably, thanks little girl. :)

Daddy and I are really excited, though perhaps I am more excited still... I need to get some art supplies though!! Thread, fabric, yarns, knitting needles... I want to start up again with some arts and crafts, just because... also only a few more things for shopping- I think I have items in my amazon cart since mid August but haven't purchased. I hope your crib comes soon so we can have everything shipped and here in HK by early/mid Oct!! Sooooo Exciting!!!

Tomorrow we will go see the doctor again as well. I hope I finally get the glucose test for some peace of mind... :) and hopefully you will be facing upwards so we can see how you're doing rather than with your back towards us! :p

Love you lots and lots and lots little girl...
grow much. We're at 38" around the belly now!! :)
Big Hugs and Lots of Kisses, mommy & daddy

10 to go!

Wow.

Today is week 30!! That means 10 weeks (or less) till we meet you little girl!! I was super super tired today, not sure if you're going to go through a growth spurt soon inside the oven, and not sure if I'll be tired for the next 10 wks, but we'll see!! As long as you keep growing healthy, beautiful and strong!! :)

We just went to our first child birth class... Didn't learn anything much new, but good to go anyhow. There are 3 more classes so daddy can go next week!!

Daddy comes home tonight too... Yay! :)

All our love... Xxxooooo!
